Pop goes the cake

I had a craving for something sweet. That sort of this happens every so often in the summer. less so in the winter. So I was out getting gas at the station near my house and I saw a starbucks. I went in just planning to get a frapp (which I did) but I also saw these...

I had read some reviews about these before and there were a lot of complaints about them having a raw texture on the inside. But I think this might have been because of the way cake pops are made, which is basically frosting and crumbled cake mixed together. I think a lot of people (including me before I read recipes) were expecting a drier more solid cake inside. Normally I don't think I would have tried one I don't normally buy Starbucks food but the sweet tooth made that decision for me

If they had shown me the packaging I never would have hesitated. I'm so vain about my food's appearance.
Of course I'd go for the pink

The blurriness makes me a little sad but it doesn't ruin my opinion of these things. The texture was very soft and moist. It also felt like it was melting in my mouth. But at the same time, it had some density to it. That's a big thing for me. Food isn't as satisfying without me being able to chew. I was rather wary of the taste as I had heard these were really sweet and might be more suited to a young child's taste than an adult's. Either every one of those reviewers were wrong or I have the oh-so refined palate of an 8 year old. It's probably the latter. I got 2 birthday cake pops but I only had this one. The other is for my nephew when he wakes up from his nap. I'm curious to see if he'll like these too. (he probably will, he eats anything) So with their relatively reasonable pricing and great taste ,I'm putting cake pops on my list of things that I can buy again.
